Union Freight Railroad Freight Bill 1948

This is a 1948 freight bill issued by the Union Freight Railroad in Boston MA.  I have been curious about this short line that once connected North and South yards, and am glad to finally have some paper from them!

  1. Wow, this is cool! In my home layout, I model the Union Freight RR. With street running and all. There is great book on UFRR "The Railroad that Came Out at Night". Great reading! And again, excellent document! Peter

  4. Back in the early 1960's, my future wife and I were driving down Atlantic Ave in Boston about 2AM and came face to face with a SW type of engine and several boxcars in the middle of the street. She, being from the back woods of Maine had never seen anything like that. That certainly startled her. I was familiar with such a sight as I lived in Lynn at the time and had spent time in Boston. Times have changed ! Al Campbell
