Two Trapped After Concord NH Train Derailment

CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) – Two railroad workers were in a single-car locomotive that derailed in Concord, New Hampshire on Wednesday.

Concord fire officials said the locomotive, which belongs to the New England Southern Railroad, overturned off an embankment near Commercial Street at around 11:30.

One person suffered possible head and leg injuries and was transported to Concord Hospital. The other person was unharmed.

A diesel fuel leak was also reported, but officials said the leak is under control.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but officials noted there was a lot of snow on the tracks.
Officials with Environmental Services, the Concord Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation Rail Division are on the scene.
